How often will my sponsored child write to me and how often should I write to them?

Your sponsored child will write to you at least twice a year. You can write more often to encourage them. Three or four messages a year would be an incredible blessing to your sponsored child, but we don’t encourage sponsors to write more than six times a year.

Although we’re continually working to decrease the time it takes for letters to travel between children and their sponsors, letters take a while to get through as they need to be translated and hand-delivered. So please understand if your sponsored child doesn’t respond to your questions straight away.

If you’re not a letter writer, please know that just sending two messages a year to your sponsored child powerfully boosts their self-esteem. You will be doing something amazing by simply remembering to send a birthday and a Christmas greeting.

Your words can be a huge encouragement to your sponsored child and will really help to build their self-esteem and sense of self-worth.
