For just 92p a day, you can provide a child in poverty with the fees and uniforms they need to go to school. What’s more, you can send them to a church-based Compassion project each week. This unique combination gives children the opportunity to escape poverty and bring change to their families and communities! Empower a child to escape poverty 

How does Compassion Child sponsorship work?

Our church partners find the poorest children in their communities and register them into our programme, regardless of their faith or background. We then link each child with one sponsor who begins to make an incredible difference through their letters, prayers and donations.

What does my sponsored child receive?

Your sponsored child will be given the care and resources they need to develop in every area of their lives - their mind, body and relationships:

• Fees, and uniforms to go to school
• Nutritious food
• Health check-ups
• Personal attention and guidance from loving staff members
• An age-appropriate Bible and biblical teaching
• Literacy and life skills training
• Vocational training such as bead-making or carpentry
• Encouragement from your letters

We share God's love with the children we care for, but we don't require any child to become a follower of Jesus be a part of our programme and receive the benefits. We're committed to working with the poorest of the poor so we help children from all backgrounds regardless of caste, creed, class or religion.

Help fight child poverty

This programme is life-changing - and you don't just have to take our word for it! According to an independent study, children whose sponsors had enabled them to complete the Compassion programme were more likely to have finished education and be in salaried employment. The unique structure of our one-to-one model allows you to see the difference you’re making over time. Not only will you receive letters from your sponsored child, we'll send you photo updates and news from their project.

How to sponsor a child
